On Monday, October 19, Anthropologie at Waterside Shops closed so it could move into a new space near Sephora at 5475-1 Tamiami Trail N. The notice Waterside posted on October 8 gave no reopening date and asked shoppers to "stay tuned for opening announcements and events."
Artis-Naples, by contrast, has printed its calendar out to June 27, 2027, when Florida Contemporary closes. For the rest of the fall, the venues around Pelican Bay split along that line. The museum and concert hall give dates to the day. The shopping center mostly gives seasons. Use the first as the frame for the next two months and fit Waterside in wherever its openings actually land.
The Baker Museum closes its shows in a set order
The Baker Museum has five exhibitions on or coming up, and they close one after another into next summer. Listed by closing date, they give you an order for visiting:
| Exhibition | On view | Closes |
|---|---|---|
| The Passion of Collecting: Stories in Glass and Ceramics from the Sibrack Collection | Since January 10, 2026 | November 1, 2026 |
| Linling Lu: Fugue in 3 Voices | Since July 11, 2026 | January 3, 2027 |
| The Surrealist International: Fifty Years of Dreams | Since October 17, 2026, third floor | February 14, 2027 |
| Baron Wolman: Capturing the Sound of an Era | Opens December 5, 2026, second floor | June 13, 2027 |
| Florida Contemporary 2026–27 | Since October 17, 2026 | June 27, 2027 |
The glass and ceramics show closes first, on Sunday, November 1. If you've been putting it off since January, the weekend of October 31 and November 1 is your last chance.
The Surrealist International is the big loan of the season. The paintings, photographs, sculptures and objects come from the collection of Tate in the United Kingdom. The artists range from familiar names like René Magritte, Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró, Leonora Carrington, Lee Miller and Man Ray to less-shown figures such as Ithell Colquhoun, Kati Horna and Lionel Wendt. It runs to February 14, so you have time. The crowds will likely grow as the season fills, though, so earlier visits may be easier.
Florida Contemporary 2026–27 opened the same day and stays up the longest. It features Dustin Harewood, Nicario Jiménez-Quispe, Savannah Magnolia and Anastasia Samoylova. The rock photography show arrives December 5. Organized with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, it includes Baron Wolman's Woodstock material.
Linling Lu's exhibition is the one that ties the museum to the concert hall next door. Her new paintings respond to composers on the Naples Philharmonic's Masterworks programs, which makes it the natural thing to see on a concert night.
Hayes Hall runs on fixed dates through Thanksgiving weekend
From October 29 through November 29, every performance in Hayes Hall is already fixed:
- October 29 and 30. The Masterworks season opens with music director Alexander Shelley and pianist Yeol Eum Son. The program is Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 and Brahms' Symphony No. 1.
- November 3 through 7. The Pops series opens with Mandy Gonzalez Sings Broadway, led by Jack Everly.
- November 8, 1 to 5 p.m. Fall Community Day is free, with museum activities, performances and youth concerts.
- November 24 and 25, then 27 through 29. Hamilton plays Hayes Hall. There's a break on Thanksgiving Day.
The October 29 opener starts Shelley's third season and a 2026–27 theme Artis calls "To Light: The Art of Hope." Later in the season, the Philharmonic plans to play all nine Beethoven symphonies over two weeks, according to the season announcement Artis released July 13. The concerto on opening night starts that Beethoven thread. Artis notes that programs and dates can change, but this is still the firmest plan anyone in the area has published for the season.
If you only want to try one of these, Community Day on November 8 is the easiest. It costs nothing, lasts four hours on a Sunday afternoon, and opens the whole campus at once.
Waterside, sorted by how firm the date is
Waterside's news this year has come mostly as announcements, and the announcements give windows. Sorted by how settled each one is, the center looks like this as of late October:
- Open, with a confirmed first day. Gulfshore Business reported that Eddie V's Prime Seafood opened June 7 and that Dior's standalone boutique opened June 11.
- Open, no first day given. Vuori is listed as "Now Open" at 5475-7 Tamiami Trail N. OMEGA is running a temporary boutique at 5375 Tamiami Trail N., Suite 11. Its permanent store is planned for 5555 Tamiami Trail N., Suite 15, with no completion date.
- Closed for a move. Anthropologie, as of October 19, is headed for 5475-1 Tamiami Trail N. No reopening date has been announced.
- Announced by season. Piranesi at 5435-19 Tamiami Trail N. is listed for "Fall 2026." Peter Millar at 5485-9 is listed for "Late 2026." LoveShackFancy at 5455-1 is listed for "Holiday 2026." TWP at 5455-7 is listed for "Early 2027."
- One restaurant, two dates. Buck & Rider is taking over the former Brio space at 5505 Tamiami Trail N. Waterside's May dining announcement said late 2026. Gulfshore Business later reported early 2027 for the 7,617-square-foot space.
None of the dates in the last two groups is an opening day. They're targets, and as Buck & Rider shows, a target can move by a season between one announcement and the next.
The biggest change is RH on the old Nordstrom site
The largest project on that list has no store announcement page of its own. Gulfshore Business reported that DeAngelis Diamond, a Naples company, is building an RH campus of nearly 30,000 square feet on the former Nordstrom footprint at the center's northwest corner. Nordstrom closed in 2020. The plans call for gallery buildings of home furnishings linked by landscaped walkways to an RH Naples restaurant in a glass atrium, and RH was hoping to open near the end of this year.
Count that atrium, Eddie V's and Buck & Rider together, and Waterside will have three major restaurants that weren't there a year ago, two of them still under construction. Eddie V's occupies a 9,991-square-foot former bank office that was heavily renovated, on the corner of Seagate Drive and Myra Janco Daniels Boulevard. Of the three, it's the only one where you can book a table today.
Much of the rest of the center has changed places this year, and the moves explain several of the empty storefronts:
- Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma reopened in January in the former Barnes & Noble outparcel. Their old inline spaces were vacated the same month.
- Dior moved out of its store-within-a-store at Saks Fifth Avenue into a 6,000-square-foot suite. The suite combines part of the former Williams Sonoma space with several smaller adjoining units.
- Brio Italian Grille closed April 12 after 20 years.
- L'Occitane en Provence planned to close May 26, and Häagen-Dazs was set to close May 31. Their two units are to be combined for a new tenant.
- White House Black Market closed in late January.
So the plywood around the center right now mostly means a tenant moving across the property or two units being joined into one. Few of those spaces are simply empty.
Planning November and December around both calendars
Artis supplies the fixed dates, and Waterside's openings fill in around them whenever they arrive.
The Sibrack show closes November 1, Mandy Gonzalez plays November 3 through 7, and Community Day is November 8. Of Waterside's seasonal targets, Piranesi's "Fall 2026" window is the only one that could plausibly fall in these weeks.
Hamilton plays November 24 and 25, then 27 through 29. Peter Millar's and RH's late-year targets put them in the same general stretch, so it's worth checking whether either has opened before you plan a dinner around a show night.
Baron Wolman opens at the Baker Museum on December 5. LoveShackFancy's "Holiday 2026" window and RH's year-end goal are the two Waterside openings most likely to land that month. Anthropologie's new store near Sephora will open whenever Waterside announces it.
In January, Linling Lu's paintings come down on January 3. Of all the dates in this post, that's the one most likely to catch people out, because the show has been up since July.
